4. Question: When will I receive my tapes?
Answer: You will receive your tapes within 5 days to 4 weeks, unless we are running a promotion.
5. Question: Where will I stay?
Answer: We can provide you with a list of hotels we like in the Chicagoland area.
6. Question: Will a makeup artist be provided?
Answer: A makeup artist is provided for most of the visual workshop. View your workshop details.
7. Question: Where will my workshop be shot?
Answer: Our workshops are shot in a hotel. 99% of our customers stay in the same hotel that we schedule.
8. Question: What if I need my tapes sooner than 2-4 week. What are my options?
Answer: We have 1, 3 and 7 day services available for an additional fee. Please view additional services.
9. Question: What clothing should I bring?
Answer: Once you register, you will receive a packet that will list a selection of appropriate clothing.
10. Question: How do I make extra copies of my resume tape?
Answer: You can buy a VHS/DVD recorder to make your own copies. However, it's best to make your copies with MBT because we burn copies directly from the master.
11. Question: What will happen once the workshop is over?
Answer: We will start sending you job listings for the length of your package terms.
12. Question: What if I already have taped footage. Can I have my footage edited?
Answer: MBT can edited footage shot by another demo company. View additional services.
13. Question: What if I already have a resume tape, but I want to add more video footage?
Answer: MBT can shoot additional footage to be incorporated into your demo reel or resume tape. View our al la arte prices.
14. Question: What if I already have a news package that I like, but I want to add a montage? What are my options?
Answer: Regardless if you need a montage or more packages. MBT has many options for you to choose from. Our la cart package will work for you. Choose only what you need.
15. Question: Do you provide image consulting ?
Answer: Yes, our image consultant is your partner in success. The consultant will help guide you to present a uniquely personal and completely professional appearance as an anchor, reporter, host , VJ, etc.
16. Question: What if I need personal advisor past my demo session, is there an additional fee for this service?
Answer: Each package has a consultation period. Please view your package for more details.
17. Question: Do I have to sign any forms?
Answer: You have to sign the following forms.

18. Question: Is hotel stay included in the workshop price?
Answer: Some workshop packages have hotel stay included. View your workshop package for more details.
19. Question: How do I travel to the different shooting locations?
Answer: Transportation to reporting shooting locations are included in every workshop package, but you are free to use your own transportation.
20. Question: Are the workshops just for training?
Answer: No! The workshops are your video and/or audio resume material to submit to news directors, hiring managers, talent agencies, etc.
21. Question: Can I contact previous customers?
Answer: It is against MBT policy to release clients personal information for security reasons. We only release clients information to third party companies who are providing services to the client.
22. Question: Can your company guarantee me a job?
Answer: We can not guarantee you a job. All we can guarantee is a quality tape. A resume tape is like a print resume, only visual.
It is up to the client to provide the talent. Getting a job in the field is base on your own skills, not the stories, but the way you report the news. We just provide the visual and/or audio material for you the submit to news directors, hiring managers, talent agencies, etc. If a company can guarantee you a job, then that's the company you should use.
23. Question: How long does a resume tape last before I need new material?
Answer: One year maybe longer, this information depends on the news directors, hiring managers, talent agencies, etc. Some want current material while another might want to just see your capabilities.
24. Question: I can't find a job. I had my resume tape made by another company and I cannot find a job. Why should I use your company?
Answer: Resume material last up to a year maybe longer, so you might want to update your material. There are many reasons why news directors, hiring managers, talent agencies, etc might not be interested in your material. Here are some reason:
- You live out-of-state and the company wants someone in state.
- You live out-of-state, and you have talent, but the company does not want to pay relocation cost.
- You don't have the look that fits into their current lineup.
- You don't have enough experience.
- You have an accent that is too distracting
- You are too full-figured.
- The market is downsizing.
- The company is on a hiring freeze.
- You don't have talent, etc. (10 percent fall into this category)
On a positive note, many of these reasons can be corrected.
25. Question: Why are the workshops shot in a hotel and not a television studio?
Answer: When we shoot at our studio the cost is five times greater than renting a conference room or suite. Take setup field equipment into a mobile television studio with a camera, lights, microphone, TelePrompTer, green screen, etc.
26. Question: Is having an internship important?
Answer: An internship is a great way to gain experience , network and sometimes your foot in the door without a resume tape.
27. Question: Should I join an organization?
Answer: Joining an organization is very important.
28. Question: What else should I know?
Answer: For additional $40, Media Broadcasting Talent will place you video in a news library site where news directors will have 24 access to view your resume tape. This service is not require. After you view your resume tape online, you can decide if this service is for you.
